Ufford Charities

Ufford Charities needed to understand the history of the charity’s accounting processes and then assess recent activities and ensure they met with the charity’s governing documentation. Larking Gowen  assisted in the process of understanding the objects of the charity, how this had been managed and how the charity should close off some of its obligations, having reached them and received advise on legal and accounting process and best practice.
Judi Hallett, clerk to the Trustees said:
“The accounts and annual reports are now 100% clearer for the Trustees and any residents to understand. We also hope to runa series of promotional articles in our parish magazine next year to promote the work of the charity. The cost of receiving the help that [Larking Gowen] could give us was way beyond our spending capability. The support saved us years’ worth of work and meant we could get up to speed with modern practices very quickly. Now that the charity is back on track, we can turn our attention to promoting the ‘Public Purposes’ branch and help local people and local projects. The residents of the Almshouses are also now in a much better position and we are arranging for future work to be carried out.”
