Erasmus Foundation

Suffolk ProHelp has been instrumental in supporting the development of new facilities at the Erasmus Foundation in Laxfield, Suffolk, a Spiritual Teaching and Healing Centre run under charity status. Planning Approval has been granted for construction of three new buildings to replace and supplement facilities / services on offer.
The principle new building will house a large Meeting Room, Lobby / Display Foyer, Restaurant, Catering Kitchen, Toilets and first floor archive storage facilities. Two further independent buildings are also planned, the first a Library / Reading Room with small Kitchen and the second a Cart Lodge / Hayloft to provide machinery storage and for storage of animal feed. Plaice Design have worked closely with the foundations building committee to develop the brief and designs through RIBA Work Stages 1,2 & 3. Also involved have been Playle and Partners and MLM.
The site has been master-planned by the current guardians. Recent developments have seen the construction of a new Healing Clinic, the construction of The Peace Gardens within the walls of the Foundation and a Herb Garden. The land also acts as an Animal Sanctuary. The Centre is an outward looking organisation and encourages visitors to enjoy the gardens and wildlife through a series of open day events. This site lies in a rural environment at the edge of Laxfield’s physical boundary, its landscape characterised by agricultural Farm Land and open fields.
